The Purdue Extension Service will hold the Southeast Purdue Ag. Center (SEPAC) Field Day on Thursday, August 22, from 3:00 to 7:45 p.m. Topics that will be presented will reflect the conditions of the season and important considerations. The presentations will be conducted by Purdue Extension Specialists that are foremost in their field of study. Topics will include: How to Evaluate Current Crops by Field Crop specialists Bob Nielsen and Shaun Casteel, Fungicides by Kirsten Wise, Nitrogen Management by Extension Educator Dave Osborne and successes in weed control by Bill Johnson. The new Purdue Extension Director, Dr. Jason Henderson will highlight the agriculture economic outlook during the dinner segment of the field day with his talk “Is this Farm Boom Different”.
The Field Day is free and open to the public. Those wishing to receive PARP credit must bring $10 and their private applicator number to the program. The Southeast Purdue Agricultural Center (SEPAC) is located at 4425 E County Road 350 N, Butlerville, IN 47223. There is a yellow caution light on US Hwy 50 approximately 5 miles east of North Vernon and 1 mile west of Butlerville. Turn north off of US Hwy 50 at the yellow caution light and follow the signs approximately ¾ of a mile to SEPAC. RSVPs are appreciated.
